Carlos Cortez Named to Junior Achievement of Kansas 2027 Hall of Fame
Junior Achievement of Kansas has announced the 2027 Topeka Business Hall of Fame Laureates and Carlos Cortez is one of three Topeka business leaders being recognized.
Junior Achievement has over 100 local areas across the nation, and together they are the nation’s largest organization dedicated to giving young people the knowledge and skills they need to own their economic success, plan for their futures, and make smart academic and economic choices. JA’s programs in the core content areas of work readiness, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy ignite the spark in young people to experience and realize the opportunities and realities of work and life in the 21st century.
When asked about what it meant to be heading to the hall of fame here in Topeka all three honorees said it isn’t about their pasts but their futures.
“It’s an honor to be recognized by Junior Achievement for what we’ve done but also for the youth, if we can do it you can do it and also mentor someone who would like to be in our field.
Topeka is a community that you can grow in.”

Carlos is joined alongside other business leaders including Jon Haas, founder and president of Haas Group, and Kurt Kuta, current president and CEO of Corefirst Bank & Trust. This year’s class also includes Maggie Warren, the owner of Wheatland Property Management, who passed away this July.
