Blind Tiger Brewery & Restaurant 🍻

The Blind Tiger Brewery & Restaurant is named for the Prohibition-era custom of illegal drinking establishments displaying stuffed tigers or china tigers to alert potential patrons to the availability of illicit alcohol after hours. In southern dialect a “tiger” was a roaring party. These “tigers” were “blind” because the authorities, at least officially, did not know they existed. This longstanding Topeka brewery and restaurant is a must visit destination for travelers!

LEGO is Coming to Topeka 🧱

The Topeka Brick Convention will be holding the city’s first LEGO Convention at the Stormont Vail Events Center from Feb. 21-22, 2026. The event will feature professional LEGO artists from across the nation who will be displaying their creations and meeting with fans.

LEGO fans will also be able to get hands-on with their own creations in the Construction Zone which will have thousands of LEGO bricks available, according to the Topeka Brick Convention.

A Christmas Wager Play 🎄

A romantic Christmas fable of love and loss and the magic of second chances is coming soon to Topeka! A Christmas Wager is the new play from Gary Piland and will be debuting this December with three show dates at The Beacon. This event is great for people of all ages and you can receive a $5 discount with a food item donation for our local food pantries.

Driving Tips for Fall 🍂

Winter driving comes with its own set of challenges, but a little preparation and awareness can go a long way toward keeping you safe. Before you head out, make sure your vehicle is winter-ready!

Reduce Your Following Distance
Be sure to not follow the car in front of you too closely. This is a good driving practice anytime of year, but during winter weather it can be the difference maker between staying safe and a collision.

Prep Your Vehicle
You’ve probably already seen your low-tire pressure light this Autumn as temperatures drop. Ensure your tires are ready for inclement weather like snow and ice, and check your wiper blades, ice-melt, and heating system to ensure you’re ready for winter.

Pack an Emergency Kit
It’s better to be prepared than not! Keep essentials like a blanket, gloves, flashlight, and charger in case of delays or emergencies.

Plan Your Commute
Travel times can take longer in winter due to increased traffic during holidays, road accidents and weather. Be sure to give yourself some extra time to get to where you’re going.
